Dr. Emmanuel Achu is an
Interventional Cardiologist and main
provider at The Woodlands
Cardiovascular Center. Dr. Achu was
born in Cameroon, West Africa. He
moved to Minnesota in his teenage
years
He attended Minnesota State
University, where he graduated with
honors in 2007 with a Bachelor’s
degree in Biochemistry. After
college, he worked as a Clinical
Laboratory Technologist for the
Department of Laboratory Medicine
and Pathology at the Mayo Clinic,
Rochester Minnesota.
He later attended St. Georges
University where he obtained his
Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree in
2013. Dr. Achu completed his
Internal Medicine Internship and
Residency training at Newark Beth
Israel Medical Center, Newark, NJ.
He then moved to Maimonides Medical
Center, Brooklyn, NY, where he
completed his fellowship training in
Cardiovascular Disease, and later
further specializing in
Interventional Cardiology.
After completing his training in New
York, Dr. Achu decided to move and
settle in The Woodlands TX and has
absolutely loved it here since. Dr.
Achu is directly affiliated and
provides care to patients at Houston
Methodist The Woodlands Hospital,
Memorial Hermann The Woodlands
Hospital
St. Luke’s The Woodlands Hospital,
Encompass Health Rehabilitation
Hospital, HCA Conroe. On his free
time, Dr. Achu is passionate about
music, art, sports (soccer,
basketball, Tennis), outdoors and
horses.
